Life’s a Beach and Then

I had wanted to make this painting for several years, and I was very happy with how it turned out when I finally made it in the spring of 2024. The painting is based on the Djinn (also known as Genies), and I show three of them coming out of a painting of a beach. The Koran states that God made man from soundless clay, made Angels from pure light, and made the Djinn from smokeless fire. Djinn are shapeshifters, and over the years they have had many different stories about them from many different civilizations. There are some people who believe that the Djinn actually exist and are real entities. Some people say that the "shadow people" that we tend to see from the corner of our eyes are actually Djinn, and others theorize that they come from another dimension that can be easily accessed, even by accident. Western civilization changed the Djinn and gave them the power to grant wishes. Djinn, or Genies, are often trapped in a bottle or magic lamp, but tales have stated that they could be trapped in various other objects. So I chose a picture. Although the Djinn in my picture have found a way out, without the help of Alladin. This painting comes equipped with four LED lights located on the back. The eyes of the painting are able to light up, and flicker between yellow and red, mimicking a flame, when the power on the lights are on. The lights require batteries, and they are included. The painting is 24 inches tall and 36 inches wide, and has a depth of 3 1/2 inches.
