Cactus Flats 500 Watt Solid State Bass Amplifier with 12AX7 Tube Pre-Amp
The Cactus Flats Amplifier is a versatile bass head that can be used for rehearsing and live performances, as well as recording.
Bad Stain designed the Cactus Flats Bass Amp to be used for punk rock, as well as all of its sub-genres, such as emo, pop punk, ska, and skate punk.
The thing that makes the Cactus Flats Amp so unique is the fact that it is designed to produce a scorching high end of treble, but still generates fat and thick low end tones.
The Cactus Flats Amp features a class A tube pre-amp that is equipped with an EHX 12AX7 low noise, high-mu twin triode tube by Electro-Harmonix. The tube pre-amp and class D power amplifier is enclosed in a sturdy and rugged case with diamond plate vinyl covering. The amp is ultra light, weighing only 8 pounds, and is equipped with a built in handle to make it easy to move.
The Cactus Flats amp features a variety of ways to shape your favorite tones, with bass, treble, shape and frequency knobs. In addition, the Cactus Flats has a drive knob for an added distortion effect, a compression knob to control bass dynamics, as well as a gain control knob. While most bass amps focus on a powerful low end, the Cactus Flats has a Treble Boost button that increases high end. The Treble Boost is located in the center of a genuine Winchester 12 gauge bullet shell slice, and the master knob is fitted with a Winchester 12 gauge shotgun shell that helps give the amp the signature Bad Stain style.
Other features include a mute button that mutes the output signal, perfect when performing live. The amp also has an 1/8” auxillary input to connect a cell phone, MP3 player, or other device, so you can practice playing along to your favorite songs. An 1/8” headphone jack comes in handy when you don’t want to disturb anyone while playing.
The 1/4” input works with both passive and active bass guitars, and the amp also has an XLR direct output, with a pre/post switch that easily connects to a mixing board. The amp is also equipped with a 1/4” tuner output, as well as effects loop 1/4” send and return jacks that allow the player to use their favorite effects pedals after the pre-amp, but before the power amp.
Another feature is the 1/4” speaker jack, as well as the twist and lock speaker jack output. The amp even has a ground/lift button that can be used when experiencing electrical grounding issues like buzzing and loud hums. Just puch the button and the sound becomes clear, allowing the player to sound great even when playing live at the towns favorite dive bar.
Overall, the Cactus Flats Bass Amp is unique and diverse, but best of all it’s a dependable amp that you can count on. The Cactus Flats has an output of 500 watts at 4 Ohms, or 330 watts at 8 Ohms.
