Generation X Tempe Acoustic / Electric Guitar
The BSNW Generation X Pima Series Tempe is a Hybrid Acoustic/Electric Guitar that is inspired by Fender’s Acoustisonic Series. The guitar has a semi-hollow Telecaster style body made of mahagony, with a spruce laminate top, just like the original Boomer Generation Tempe released back in 2020.
The Generation X Tempe features a C-shaped maple neck with indian rosewood fretboard and medium sized frets, making it easy to play and quick to master. The guitar is equipped with vintage style tuners, and a standard acoustic bridge.
The mahogany section of the body has been stained a deep brown, and the spruce is painted jet black, giving the guitar body a contrast that is total beauty. The exposed soundhole section of mahogany is stained barn red, adding to the visual appeal of the Gen X Tempe.
The Gen X Tempe has simple controls that have Bad Stain’s unique signature style. The guitar features just two knobs, unlike the original Boomer Generation Tempe that had three knobs and a three way selection switch. The first knob is a master volume control knob that features a genuine 12 gauge shotgun shell that has been manipulated into a knob. The other knob is a replicated .357 bullet shell blend control knob that allows the player to adjust the amount of each pickup in the mix, instead of the original Tempe’s three way pickup selection switch.
The Gen X Tempe comes equipped with a BSNW LRAD Pickup in the bridge position, as well as an updated Generation X Tapeworm pickup located inside the soundhole.
The BSNW Long Range Acoustic Device or LRAD single coil pickup has a dual magnet design that helps give the guitar a sharp defined tone. AlNiCo 8 rod magnets are located in the center of the bobbin, and the coil is tightly wound using polyurethane coated copper wire. Two large ceramic magnets are located on the bottom of the pickup, increasing the magnetic field without overpowering the AlNiCo 8 sound. Genuine 9mm bullet shells are placed over the AlNiCo 8 rod magnets to give the pickup that unique style that Bad Stain is known for.
The Gen X Tapeworm pickup is a single coil pickup, unlike the original piezo pickup. The pickup is located inside the soundhole, and has elongated nickel rod magnets that are powered by a ceramic magnet, and a flat neodymium magnet lays across the top of the rods. The pickup has a coil of formvar wire, and the unique design and location of the Tapeworm produces a hollow and distant tone.
Both of the pickups are exclusive to the Generation X Tempe, and are only available when you purchase the guitar. Unlike the original Tempe, the Gen X does not have any tone controls to adjust treble or bass. The Gen X only has master volume and pickup blend controls, allowing the tone to come from the mahogany and spruce that produces a superb sound.
The Generation X Tempe is an active guitar, just like the original Tempe. The pickups are powered with a small preamp that runs on a nine volt battery, that can easily be replaced as needed with the convenient battery box located on the back of the guitar.
The BSNW Tempe is a diverse guitar that can be used as an acoustic, or as an electric guitar, and is a wonderful addition to any serious musician’s arsenal.
