The BSNW Generation X Tapeworm Internal Single Coil Pickup is vastly different from the original Boomer Tapeworm. The original Tapeworm was a piezo pickup and utilized a quartz crystal to produce a muddy tone.

The Gen X Tapeworm is a standard single coil pickup wound with polyurethane insulated copper wire and two large ceramic magnets. The pickup is equipped with extended nickel pole pieces with a rare earth neodymium magnet laid out across the top.

The Gen X Tapeworm comes installed inside of the Generation X Pima Series Tempe guitar is not available to purchase separately. The Tapeworm is installed inside the guitar at the sound hole, and the inside is insulated with sound foam, generating a muffled and hollow tone that is far back in the mix when both pickups are active.
